A highly sensitive woman’s new perspective on mental illness

Panicking? Listen to this.

Posted on: September 18, 2008

Wow!  Two posts in one day.  It’s a record.

Speaking of records, you must check this out.

It’s a song written especially for when you’re feeling anxious or panicky.

I love it! Really clever. Catchy, too.

What do you think?

very sweet, thanks and I needed it just now.

Hi Gianna

It’s such a great song. Last night, I played it over and over about 15 times. It really hit the spot.

Glad you enjoyed it, too.

It’s on my blog now too…with a link reminding people of you!

Wonderful!

I just cannot get enough of it right now. Every time I hear it, I take a deep breath.

*deep, cleansing, breath…*

:)

Love it. Thank you!

Hi there, A&A!

Long time no talk! But, I have been faithfully reading all of your posts.

Isn’t it a relaxing, inspiring song? I like it even more when I learned about how it was made of so many different people’s voices!

Very creative. I hope you are well!

Heya HSP Woman… I’m doing quite well :)

I do so very much love the story behind this song. A collective of voices and effort… and isn’t that what makes it easier to get through life and the challenges we deal with to?

I’ve been a busy little blogger… of course.. chat a mile a minute given the opportunity. I continue to keep tabs on yours too.

Talk again soon :)

Hey there.
I thought of you when I was watching Dog Whisperer. A Woman who struggled with leaving the house because of her anxiety was on there. It didn’t say she was Agoraphobic, but she had terrible anxiety and had tried taking medication but didn’t like the side-effects.

The one thing in her life that kept her from being afraid and anxious was her dog. If she was walking her dog she could go places without having attacks.

So, she went to the doctor and then began training for her dog and got him licensed as a disability dog.
She was then able to take him with her to the store, shopping, etc… so that she could live a happier life.

It was just really interesting. I know that agoraphobia and anxiety attacks are different, just when I saw the show I thought of you and that if something like that could work for you, you could enjoy travelling and stuff again with your husband. :)

I hope you are doing okay, not much posting going on. :)

This could definitely come in handy, no doubt. Thanks so much for posting. Reading the rest of your entries, your blog as a whole seems very interesting.

Hi Stef

Your comment makes SO MUCH SENSE to me. I always feel better going around with my dog or cat. I totally get it.

Wow. I should look up that episode and watch it.

But, lately, I am trying hard to identify and eliminate the “superstitions” I use to “keep panic at bay.”

I realize that I am just perpetuating the myth that panic is harmful to me if I continue to bring my “safety items” like emergency meds, my sunglasses, a barf bag, my iPhone, or even my cat.

Panic will always go away on its own, with or without my special items.

You see, I am trying to convince myself of this more than you!

Panic is not dangerous. By bringing special things I just continue to reinforce the judgement.

Panic is not dangerous. I don’t really need my cat, do I?

Thanks for the heads-up. It’s great to hear from you.
